Over the 8 years I have been teaching, I have built up a good reputation and some valuable teaching methods.
The first lesson, I will review your playing and correct any bad habbits that you may have picked up. I will then prepare a study plan for you to follow and you will be given a folder to collect all the reference material I give you.
If you are a beginner, we will start by learning the basic chord shapes used to play the many songs out there and the finger techniques used to play them.
We will learn the basics of the guitar, the string names, how to hold the guitar, how and what to practice, various left and right hand techniques, rhythm and lead playing and lots, lots more.
If you have already been playing for a while, we will build upon your existing knowledge and again correct any bad habbits you may have picked up along the way.
I will ask you a few questions to assess your knowledge of the guitar and find out which styles you are interested in learning.
We will then learn the various techniques you will need to play that particular style, ie scales, arpeggios, legato, speed picking, sweep picking, theory, sight reading etc and incorporate it into your practice routine.

your fingers aren't aching and your head isn't pounding - you aren't done
