Many people are scared of being on camera and I was too when I first started… It can be daunting seeing yourself on camera for the first time and hearing your voice through the speakers.
If you are going to get over this problem or challenge…. you need to ask yourself, how much do you actually want success? If the answer to this question is not very much, then don't bother with video… but if you want SUCCESS desperately, then you need to embrace online video as quickly as you can.
Here are a few ways I use video on Facebook….
Using Video to wish my friends a happy birthday
Welcoming my new friends with a video
By uploading videos you’ve recorded with your webcam/ flip cam or camcorder, you will be able to connect with your friends on a much deeper level. The more people get to know you and what you are doing in your life, the more chance you have at making an impression on that person.
Video is becoming more and more mainstream and if you aren’t using video in your communications I strongly recommend you start to learn as quickly as possible. It will really help you with your Facebook marketing and social networking branding and activities.
My Skype Virus Facebook Video Strategy
One of the most viral video marketing strategies I've used on Facebook was the video about the Skype virus. I managed to turn something that was pretty bad for me into a lot of publicity.
You can read the blog post here…

Here's the video…
I recorded the video on my Camcorder… (if you've watched the video, you'll notice that it's not really professionally done, it's more of a personal, secret type video which always goes down well) and I uploaded it to Facebook.
Once I'd uploaded the video I tagged some of my friends in the video. My aim was to create a video that would spread around Facebook and get the attention of people as much as possible.
The people I tagged in the video came and watched the video, they left comments and some of them posted a link to the video on their profile. This meant that their friends would then see the video and come over and watch it.
More and more people came over to the video, some of them commented and others sent me a private message thanking me for warning them about this Skype virus.
I then took the video, embedded it onto my blog, sent an email to my list and friends and gradually got more and more exposure.
I also posted my video to various groups on Facebook, and made a few posts on the group's walls about the Skype virus that was spreading around Skype.
Although the video didn't result in any more signups for my primary network marketing business, it definitely helped increase visibility for my Facebook profile and my own personal brand.
