My advice is to start setting up friends lists right from the start… it will make managing your friends much easier. Unfortunately I didn’t do this when I started and now I have 600+ friends all over the place, so I'd like to show you how to do this correctly.

By adding your friends to a specific list, you can target them in the future by each list.
For example, if they are network marketers, you could tag everyone in your network marketers list or send an email out to all people involved in a certain network marketing company etc rather than having to go through your friends one at a time and add them to your individual lists.
How to Use Friend Lists
1. Log in to Facebook and make sure you are on the Home page
2. Click on the Friends Tab located in the left hand side bar
3. To create a new list, click on the Create a List button at the top, and type the name of your new list. Make sure you press the Enter or Return key once you've written it otherwise it won't accept it.
Lets say you were about to prospect in an Amway related group, you could call the list Amway and then put all your friends from that group into this list.
Or, you could call it Network Marketing 1, or Network Marketing 2 etc..
Once you've created a friend list, make sure you click on the list name in the left hand side. It will bring up any friends you have in the list into the middle of the page. You can then add friends to the specific list.
4. Type your friends name in the Start Typing a Name box and it will add that person to the list.
Once you've set up your friend lists and added some friends to the list, if you click on the specific list it will display only the friends within that list.
5. When you write a new Facebook message, you can type in your list name and send a message to the whole list at the same time. If you want to send a message out to everyone in that list, you can only send a message out to 20 people. Therefore, if you are going to go down this route, make sure you keep your lists to 20 people or less.
6. Everytime you add a new friend or confirm a friend request, you can then add that person to one of your lists. This makes things much more organized, especially if you have 5000 friends!
Use friend lists to keep everything organized and to keep track of where abouts you know people from.
Just because you can now send out emails to your lists, doesn't mean you should send them junk and spam. Use this feature very occassionally and don't send the same email out over and over again to your different lists.
If you do this, you will have your account closed by Facebook.
