If you use the bad news approach in emails, headlines, twitter posts, blog posts and video content and other conversations you have with people… you'll be able to get people to read your content much easier because people love bad news

Even the headline – Bad News… makes you want to know more about what it is. For some reason, people love bad news.

Once you've told the bad news story, turn it around and bring out the good news and the happy ending that people like also.

Have a look at the story I've written here… It's a true story but I've written it in such a way that it draws you in with a bad news story, or the struggle I had and ultimately ends with me finding the solution to my problem….

You can also use the Zeigarnik effect which shows you how to use unfinished sentences or ideas to…

Play around with this concept when you are talking to people, writing emails, blog posts or headlines and I can guarantee, you'll get people listening much more to what you have to say!

Hi Gavin,

Heard about the 'bad news' marketing about a year ago. Frank Kern made a big report about it. But thanks for reminding me again, this concept 'works' and I will be using these again, esp in new Biz. Bad news can actually be good news!
Lol.
Adrian.

Great post, Gavin. We just started using this technique in our autoresponder follow-up series and the sind-ups increased dramatically. So yes, it works!

Glad I found your blog – well done.

Best to you,
Scott
