FB1903 – Making Friends With Like Minded Individuals
If you're a network marketer, MLM'er, Internet marketer or if you have a home based business of some kind, then you need to be connecting with other like minded people. The best way to find people who are involved in businesses similar to yours is to connect with people through Facebook groups.
You can make friends with various other network marketers through the groups section on Facebook. If you go to the groups section on Facebook and search for network marketing related groups.
I'm going into the MLM and network marketing snowball group on Facebook which is a group that is trying to get as many network marketers and MLM'ers into their group as possible.
If you scroll down, you will see that there are 930 members in the group (I'm sure there will be more now). You can then go to see all members which will show you all the members in the group.
Once you find someone you want to become friends with, if you click on the add as friend button a little box will appear where you can add that person to a specific friend list and add a personal message to the friend request.
Before you become that persons friend, they will have to confirm that they want to become your friend.
I usually add a personal message to the friend request because it helps the person you are friending know who you are. I usually tell them where I've found them on Facebook. (Usually in a network marketing related group). Not everyone wants to be friends with strangers on Facebook, so not everyone will accept your friend request.
Facebook is a place where you connect with your friends, collegues etc but it can also be a great network marketing tool if you use it in the right way.
The message I sent was:
Hey Tony,
I'm in the MLM snowball group also. I'd like to connect with you if possible.
Thanks,
Gavin
You then add the person to one of your friends lists which I'll talk about in another tutorial. I've already set up lists for different people so I can sort my friends into different groups. This way I know how I met that person in the future.
It's much easier than having 500-1000 friends all in one list.
Before you are friends with the person you sent the friend request to, they will have to confirm before they show up in your list of friends.
I usually send between 5-10 friend requests each day on Facebook. Don't send the same message to everyone, make sure it's personal, and DO NOT go to the Send a Message box and send the same email to everyone before you make a friend request. You will get your Facebook account banned and closed for sending spam messages. Facebook are very strict on this. If you violate their terms of service more than a couple of times they will close your account.
If you make friends with 5-10 people each day, then at the end of the month, you will have about 300 friends. It's a gradual process and it's not a race
