Email Overwhelm…
I used to have so many inboxes and email that I just didn't know if I was coming or going. My inbox was overflowing and I was missing important emails because of it. Frustrated, overworked, stressed out and overwhelm were all regular emotions for me…
Was I supposed to leave messages unread or read if I had to take action on that email? Where was I supposed to file my emails for reference, and how was I supposed to manage this much JUNK?
Email was dominating my life. Every 2 mins I'd go and check it. "Oh, I wonder if I've got a new email, let me check" I didn't actually realise it was costing me a lot of time and was switching my focus away from what I was working on.
I was an email slave.
Then one day, salvation came… I found a solution. (Well, it actually took me 6-12 months to learn how to implement it all, but it was worth it)
David Allen, Getting things done and the Zero Inbox saved me. Finally I was able to take control of my email, and ultimately my life. No longer was I a slave to the electronic message.
1. How To Take Control Of Your Inbox
Video 1 – I show you how I manage my email inbox and how you can do the same. Use the same workflow that most highly productive people use and breeze through your emails in a FLASH.
2. Creating Power Labels
Labels are very powerful. The 3 main ones I have are:
@Action
@ActionLTO
@ActionMLM
The reason I use the @ symbol is that it makes that label appear at the top of my labels rather than half way down because symbols appear higher than numbers. You could also call it 1-Action if you wanted to.
Remember, you will want to put all the items you need to do into your @Action label. My @Action is for tasks I need to do for my personal life. My @ActionMLM is for all MLM related tasks and email's to reply to.
I also use a to-do list/planner which I won't discuss in this post, but will do in the future.
My other labels are R/label – The R/ Stands for reference, and to be honest, whilst I have about 50 labels to file my emails into… you actually only need R/Reference. 1 (one) label and put all your reference material in it. Gmail has a fantastic search facility which can find pretty much every email you ever received if you search for it by keyword.

3. Filter Out Unwanted Email (Trash!)
Filtering your emails is very important. I am subscribed to hundreds of newsletters and I have a LOT of email coming in. I like to be able to filter it and send some of it to specific labels so I never actually see it in my inbox and once per week I can go and skim through all the newsletters and pick out something to read.
Video 3 – Here I show you how I filter out unwanted email in Gmail, which allows me to keep my inbox relatively clear. This is very powerful and if you don't use it, then you must.
4. Directing All Emails Into One Inbox (Streamline)
I must have about 10 different email addresses and I used to struggle managing them all. I would have to go to multiple places/ logins to read my different email. I'd have 3 gmail accounts, several website emails, my Facebook, Social networking, Better Networker emails + others and it was taking up a major part of my day.
Whilst I thought I was being productive, I was actually very unproductive. Never achieving anything, and always replying to email.
So, I wanted to show you how I bring all my emails into one place…
Video 4 – If you've got multiple email addresses, and multiple inboxes then here is how to import your other gmail accounts, and website emails into your main email address.
There are many email clients. Outlook Express, Outlook, Yahoo, Hotmail etc… but I chose Gmail because I could have the one Google account and have everything running through it.

Yesterday I received an email from a good friend of mine on Facebook to say that he'd just had his Facebook account hacked into and the hackers sent a message out to all his friends. (Neither of us have clicked on the link in the email so we aren't sure what the site is).
So, to his friends it looked like the message was coming from him and many people would have clicked the link.
Imagine the devestating effect that would have on your network marketing relationships… Make sure it doesn't happen to you.
I wanted to bring this information out to you as soon as possible to help protect you, so I've recorded a couple of videos…

Action Steps
1. Go to http://strongpasswordgenerator.com and change your Facebook password to a new password which is much stronger.
2. Generate yourself a new password using either 7 or 14 characters. (You can use symbols to be even more secure, or untick the box for an easier to remember password.)
3. Go to your Facebook account > Click on Settings > Account Settings > Password and change your password.
4. Remember your new password using Roboform or Firefox password manager, or search in Google for password managers.
I couldn't operate online without Roboform, Roboform2Go, GoodSync and Roboform online. I store all my passwords and usernames inside and I can protect it with a master password incase my computer gets stolen.

In November 2009 I received an email from a top networker named Eric Su who said he was putting together a report with 15 top MLM experts from around the globe. I've lost count of the amount of people who have asked me how I get the cool signature and image at the bottom of all my email messages and autoresponder messages so I've decided to compose this tutorial post and video's to show you exactly how I did it.
You want something that people can recognise so they know who you are. If you use the same contact details, tag line and image across all your social networking profiles, emails, autoresponders etc… people will start to REMEMBER YOU.

Before I commence with my regular blog posts & trainings, I just wanted to give you an update on how things went with the wedding and honeymoon, as it's been almost a month since I talked to most of you.
The wedding was as close to perfect as you can get & everything went according to plan. The ceremony, the vicar, the company (family & friends), the food & drink and the photo's were all fantastic.
Oh yeah… I also got to marry the woman of my dreams!
As you can imagine, I was pretty nervous about the wedding speech as it's a very emotional time. I planned it all out on small cards and practiced it a few times so I'd remember what I wanted to say. (Well, maybe I practiced it a few hundred times

My brother and best man Dan also did a fantastic job with his speech and as with many weddings, he had the audience in stitches!

For the honeymoon, we went to Mexico. Swam with dolphins, toured around the pyramids and old civilization, learned about the Mayan people, relaxed in top class accomodation, bathed in crystal clear waters and had an absolutely wonderful time.
I wanted you to see the swimming with dolphins video we had recorded. This is definitely an experience I'll never forget and if you ever get the chance to do it…. then go for it!
Everytime I watch it, it brings a tear to my eyes.
So, I'm back after almost a month away and I'm really ready to get back into the swing of things and continue to coach people to use Social Media to build multiple income streams online.
I'm excited for what is about to happen and I'm looking forward to the rest of my life and working with many people I can share it with!

You may have noticed I've gone a little quiet over the last few weeks in posting to my blog…. but I've been busy working on our wedding preperations (and there are a lot of them).
If you didn't know, I'm getting married to my beautiful fiancee Pippa on 3rd October 2009 and I can't wait!
It's going to be a great day, lots of friends and family there who I haven't seen for a long time and I get to marry the love of my life
So, if I don't post again for a while, you'll know why…

I am currently working a full time day job as an assistant manager at a local petroleum station/mini mart. I have been there for about 3.5 years now. I have had several jobs in the service industry ranging from an RV and spa resort, Denny’s, a movie theatre, Hollywood Video to now the mini mart.
I have always worked my way into the management positions regardless of what the type of business I was in at the time. I can remember in high school that I wanted to be a manager of a business but had no clue of what type. Well I succeeded even if it was for a short while of being the store manager for Hollywood Video.
Over the past ten years, I have also been dabbling with the network marketing industry. I have tried several different types, and I just couldn’t find the right match until a few years ago. I had to find something that was unique and not everyone else was promoting. Although, like you I was doing what my local leaders were doing and kept running into a brick wall.
It wasn’t until about 6 months ago that I decided that maybe I should start doing some more investigating on the internet and truly find out about other coaches and mentors who have been doing this a lot longer than myself as well as my local leadership.
I was introduced to Mike Dillard and learned about Attraction Marketing. Wow! What a concept. You mean I can stop chasing people and make them find me!
I started to truly just take the time in getting to know people so that they became trusted friends. People buy from people not because of the need for the product. If you can’t take the time to get to know your newly found friends, then why would they take the time to listen to your pitch?
I started listening more. I now write down these new facts about my new friends on a 3×5 card so that I can use my notes when I do follow up with them. What a difference this makes when following up!
After meeting a few people through twitter and then also following them on Facebook, I was introduced to yet another concept called Permission Marketing. And after being on Twitter for a few months, this concept totally made sense to me. Get to know me, like me and trust me and ask permission if I would like to hear about your opportunity. Nothing makes me more upset with spammers and people who assume I want what they have through an automated DM!
Once I started practicing Gavin’s principles and philosophies, everything changed. I still work my primary business. However, I have found a system that works for anybody in the industry regardless of what product they have. Personal development is crucial to any leader whether its working for yourself or in the corporate world.
